‘The Tempest’

TNT Theater from the UK will stage Shakespeare’s classic play “The Tempest” in Shanghai. The play, which is believed to be written in 1610, is set on a remote island where Prospero, who was originally the Duke of Milan, plots to restore his daughter Miranda to her rightful place using magic and illusion. He conjures up a storm, the eponymous tempest, to lure his usurping brother Antonio and the complicit King Alonso of Naples to the island. The exiled father and daughter are joined by a colorful cast of supernatural beings in their pursuit of justice.
