Wang Dawei explores loneliness in his works

WANG Dawei’s solo exhibition “Loners” is FQ Projects’ first show this year and is displaying 15 oil paintings Wang has created since he went to the US in 2015.
It reflects the Shanghai-based artist’s many moods when he was forced to stay away from the “real life” in the US.
Observing life and people around him from a third person’s perspective was a way of finding and collecting materials.
With “Loners,” Wang explores the themes of desire, anger and ignorance of urban dwellers.
He also used a variety of techniques to highlight the eye-catching details, such as cutting out and pasting items he wants to spotlight on to the background of images he paints on the canvas.
Date: Through April 18, Tuesday-Sunday, 10am-6pm
