Grand Hyatt Shanghai offers free dining for children
GRAND Hyatt Shanghai celebrates “Family Moments” throughout May and June, including free children’s menus and festivities for Mother’s Day on Sunday.
The hotel’s six award-winning restaurants celebrate family moments through June 29. One or two children under 12 years per family can dine for free. Children can try kids menus and buffets at any restaurant.
During the Family Moments activities, guests can submit photos of their family dining at Grand Hyatt with a caption explaining why it was their “Best Family Moment.” Photos should be submitted on weibo or WeChat. Best photos may mean a family weekend stay at the Presidential Suite, with breakfast. Results will be posted in June.
“Our chefs prepare tailor-made menus for children under 12 with adequate nutrition and diversity,” said Jimmy Feng, executive assistant manager of food and beverage of Grand Hyatt Shanghai. The restaurants featuring Oriental and Western food provide numerous options for children.
The Canton and Club Jin Mao offer authentic Chinese food, appetizers including shrimp salad with ham and fruit, and braised corn soup topped with minced chicken. Children enjoy entrees such as skewered pan-fried beef with satay and peanut sauce, deep-fried shrimp ball with dragon fruit, and roast chicken wing with sesame and honey sauce. There’s plenty of wok-fried rice topped with dried scallops and abalone sauce.
There’s a range of ice cream flavors, plenty of chocolate sauce, marshmallows, smarties and chocolate-covered peanuts.
The three restaurants in ON56, Cucina, The Grill, and Kobachi, offer menu sets for the whole family, including children. The Samurai set contains a butterfly roll, salmon sushi and prawn-vegetable tempura. With help from the chefs, children (and adults) can make their own pizza with vegetables, bacon, shrimp, squid, vegetables and many other ingredients.
Guests, including children, can create their own hand-made fettuccine, penne and fusilli.
The Grill’s open kitchen features a central grill, rotisserie and large marble basin displaying fresh foods. Children can watch the chefs and interact with them.
The steak set with grilled Australian beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, spinach and mushroom sauce is popular. Also popular are the fish and chips set and the king burger set with Australian angus beef, cheddar cheese and French fries.
The buffet at Grand Cafe offers mouth-watering dishes from both the East and the West.
A children’s play area contains slides and swings. Clowns will perform magic and present balloons and gifts on Children’s Day.
At the center of the Pudong New Area, the hotel is near the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium and the Super Brand Mall where families can enjoy outings as well as five-star luxury.
“Most management team staff have family so we dedicate ourselves to providing the best and most satisfying family activities,” said Feng.
