Marriott celebrates season
SHANGHAI Marriott Hotel City Center kicked off its Christmas season celebrations with a grand Christmas tree lighting ceremony on November 28.
More than 150 guests were on hand for the lightening ceremony, which was followed by a Winter Garden Party in the hotel’s lobby lounge. Hotel General Manager Frank Sanders and owner’s representative Tony Zou hit the switch that activated the tree’s festive light display. The event also featured a special program this year as 50 guests became Santa Clauses for the children of migrant workers.
“I am very glad to invite our guests and our Marriott hosts to join me in making the wishes come true for these migrant children. This is also in keeping with Marriott’s philosophy of serving our community,” said Sanders.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet with traditional Christmas drinks, a live choir performance and goody bags to take home. The Marriott staff also staged a flash mob show on the event.
Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Center also officially launched its month-long Christmas Market, with six stalls packed with traditional Christmas goodies as well as foods and beverages.
