In Chinese rural areas, kids from poor families didn’t have any toys other than those they made themselves. The kite I made never flies successfully in the sky.
My drawing is very popular, especially my tiger which is often praised by aunties during the Dragon Boat Festival.
Freshly-made rice wine is not tasty. You need to age wine for a while. My favorite wine is the liquid stored in a jar during fermentation. It tastes much stronger than fermented rice. My hobby of drinking wine comes from my childhood.
I went to school at the age of 8. There was no school close to my auntie’s house so I had to move from my warm house to grandpa Tai’s house, new and strange. On the first day at school I saluted my teachers and the portrait of Sun Yat-sen and served teachers cakes and sweetened tea.
