Seasonal specials, new branch at Element Fresh

With fall confirming its arrival in Shanghai with the fragrance of sweet osmanthus, Element Fresh is presenting its new menu with fall/winter specials as well as a new branch at the Jing An Kerry Centre.

The new restaurant, located near bustling shopping spots, is an ideal place to take a break and enjoy dining in its two-story, spacious dining area with a cozy ambience.

Element Fresh since 2002 has never stopped innovating in adding new elements to its nutritious delicacies, and this year’s fall/winter specials are no exception. The new menu is now available at every restaurant across China. Along with long-beloved dishes, it has new entries that include three uniquely and delicately prepared salads and a list of well-selected and creatively blended drinks.

Lean and fat free, the turkey in the turkey breast salad offers a healthy alternative to beef and a meatier taste than chicken. The authentic American turkey breast is moderately grilled and complemented with a range of multi-colored garnishes such as goat cheese, roasted beets, oranges and sliced onions. Delicious and refreshing pomegranate seeds are added not only to give the dish a peppy look but also to contribute an anti-aging fruit.

The Korean bbq steak salad includes quality Australian steak seasoned with Korean bean and chili pastes. Also, roasted spicy bamboo, grilled shiitake mushrooms, shredded carrots and julienned omelet are also carefully set out on the plate. Another noticeable side dish is the red yeast wheat noodles, which are tasty, appetizing and good for your health. The dipping sauce is kimchi puree, served with orange-soy vinaigrette.

The warm spinach salad brings a touch of freshness with the freshest choice in winter — spinach. The candied walnuts are a perfect match for spinach. The caramelized apple, bleu cheese and bacon pair nicely on top of the wilted spinach leaves. Red wine vinaigrette is added as the last step.

The hami melon/orange/fennel/chili powder drink is enticing and recommended. While the blend of hami melon and orange may sound familiar, the fresh juice extracted from fennel bulbs provides an inviting smell. The chili powder completes a merry, complex and balanced experience.

The Granny Smith apple/celery/ginger drink is healthy, soothing and helps to enhance immunity.

The maple latte gets its name from the 100 percent pure Canadian maple syrup used. With a pinch of star anise powder creatively added, the latte is quite delicious.

Another featured drink is the hot Pu’er tea with pomelo marmalade, fresh apple and mint. With a mellow sweetness, it is a good companion at the dinner table during cooler months.
