Serving up a taste of Denmark

Little Mermaid Hotdogs is dedicated to bringing Danish food to Shanghai. The small restaurant opened recently on Yongkang Road and is owned by Danish catering management company Trosborg A/S, which was founded in 1989. Little Mermaid Hotdogs currently offers different Danish hot dogs, French fries, Danish desserts and imported Danish coffee. More authentic Danish food will be added to the menu soon, according to co-founders Ulrik Nielsen and Tina Damsgaard.

“If you want to know about Danish culture, this is Danish culture,” said Danish Consul General Nicolai Prytz at the opening ceremony. The hot dog, either being a quick lunch bite or comfort food after a night of beer drinking, is one of the most popular snacks in Denmark. Little Mermaid customers are promised an authentic Danish hot dog with fried onions and special sauces.

Opening hours: 10am-10pm (Sunday-Thursday); 10am-midnight (Friday-Saturday)

Address: 146 Yongkang Rd
