Colors pop for next spring at Pitti Uomo
As usual, men's fashions find their most innovative, cutting-edge and market-oriented showcase in Pitti Uomo and this year's 84th Pitti Uomo edition, held a month ago in Florence, had 1,043 brands presenting their new menswear collections, special projects and launch of global strategies at the start of the buying season.
Aside from the refined craftsmanship, eclectic and visionary designs, and the emphasis on Made-in-Italy quality, one of the irresistible new trends that will stimulate the market next spring and summer will be the use of color in all its shades, ranging from the most delicate to the strongest and most dramatic.
The color palette of PTO1 Pantaloni Torino is a tribute to summer. The Bahia model is dedicated to the warm and joyful atmosphere of Salvador de Bahia, the city of samba, carnival and capoeira with the unmistakable shades of yellow, green and blue. PT05 Cinquetasche Torino presents the Beetle model, five-pocket deluxe trousers in denim, made in Italy, available in psychedelic colors such as shocking pink, yellow lemon, green mint and cobalt blue.
Sealup, a brand synonymous with both history and modernity, elegance and avant-garde, presented its spring/summer 2014 men's collection with "high-tech'' fabrics, at the same time adopting strong and bold colors. For cottons, the choice is for prevailing reds and greens in a new refined version.
Pop-up colors are also found in many shoe brands from casual styles to classic looks.
Zabattigli di Capri's new "Neon Collection'' is inspired by Capri's colorful landscape, with vibrant hues mirroring Capri's cascades of hot pink bougainvillea, bright yellow lemons or sensationally blue seas. Urban youthfulness is expressed in the colored outsole of vulcanized rubber and upper canvas of wet PVC.
Not as shiny as Zabattigli di Capri's collection, Italian shoemaker Barrett presented its new collection with pastel shades of aloe, papaya, cobalt, and others combined with white and natural shades of leather.
The Car Shoe, billed as the original driving shoe and recognized by its characteristic sole with rubber studs (produced with materials very similar to those used in tires), showcased its new collection full of vibrant, colorful shades from red, yellow to green. For next spring, these driving shoes will ensure gentlemen hit the pedal in style.
Italian style and Made-in-Italy elegance along with "happy colors'' also are showcased in the swimwear collection launched by Fedeli Cashmere. The special collection "Swim&Wear'' for next summer includes a range that can be entirely matched, which can be an enjoyable occasion to find your own style on the beach as well.
Color, brilliant and bright, has the leading role in the whole collection, which includes close attention to details. An explosion of colors will show up on the beach from blue to orange to shades of intense red.
