Celebrations abound

The city will host a raft of activities to celebrate Christmas.

The 1933 Old Millfun, a slaughterhouse-turned-creative park in Hongkou District, will stage a 5D light show every night from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day. The spectacular show will blend laser, LED, dry ice spray and projection to create a feast for the eyes, ears and other senses.

Yuehu Park in Songjiang District will host a jazz party on December 24, and visitors are invited to play games and enjoy a buffet.

The Shanghai Museum of Glass in Baoshan District will host candlelight dinner on Christmas Eve. The beautiful glass house will create a dreamlike environment and people are invited to make some Christmas gifts with glass.

Happy Valley in Songjiang District and Chocolate Happy Land in the Pudong New Area have been spruced up with Christmas decorations. Happy Valley invites visitors to participate in a number of fun activities related to Christmas. People can pick candy from an 8-meter Christmas tree made of chocolate and experience a Christmas market at the Chocolate Happy Land.

A Christmas market is underway at the pier of Qinhuangdao Road through January 5.
