A company designing an outlet village of famous fashion brands adjacent Shanghai Disney Resort opened its first such village in Suzhou. The project known as Suzhou Village features many international fashion brands, including several flagship stores.
Shanghai visitors can take a bullet train to South Suzhou Railway Station and take a free shuttle bus to the outlet. Europe-based Value Retail has modeled the project on its Bicester Village project in Oxfordshire, England. It will have European, Middle Eastern and Chinese architectural elements in a tribute to Italian traveler Marco Polo’s journey, said Ruth Ang, the village’s China marketing director.
Suzhou garden elements will be incorporated in the design. Shanghai Village is scheduled to open in the fall of 2015 ahead of the opening of Shanghai Disney Resort.
