Endangered deer festival
THE 10th China-Dafeng International Milu Festival will be held in Dafeng, in the east of Jiangsu Province, on October 18. There are 1,789 milu - also known as Père David's deer - in Dafeng, accounting for one third of the world's population. The city is known as "hometown of the milu," as the world's largest reserve for the endangered species is located there. The festival aims to promote Dafeng's distinctive ecological environment, abundant resources, investment climate and immense potential for development and attract visitors from home and abroad to go sightseeing and look at investment opportunities. The International Milu Festival has been held twice before.
