In search of Florence’s inspiring cuisine

How often do you travel? Two or three times a year.

Objective of travel: Mostly leisure.

Favorite traveling style: I prefer both long or short distance.

When I finish a journey, I always ... Review the photos taken with family and friends.

How many destinations have you already been? Probably 20 or 25.

What does traveling mean to you? For me is a life experience that is very important. Eating in in different countries helps me in my profession and understand the culture of the place visited.

Do you prefer to travel alone or with family/friends? It doesn’t matter so much. Sometimes alone and other times with family and friends.

Q: What kind of hotel will you book when on a trip?

A: I will choose the hotel for its location and services.

 

Q: What do you value most when choosing a hotel?

A: Mostly the room and its internal features and the brand, especially Kempinski.

 

Q: What facilities or services do you think are necessary in a hotel?

A: I like to visit the restaurants and bar for personal interest and the spa.

 

Q: What do you expect most of a hotel?

A: If I stay in a luxury property it’s important that standards and service meet my expectation. The friendliness of staff is also important and I look for superlative culinary experiences.

 

Q: What do you usually do in a hotel during your stay?

A: Staying in a Kempinski hotel gives me the opportunity to meet colleagues and discuss and share opinions and ideas.

 

Q: How do you book a hotel with an affordable room rate?

A: I stay in a hotel owned by the hotel company that I work for so I will get an employee discount and extraordinary treatment.

 

Q: Please share a memorable hotel stay.

A: I stayed at the Tides Boracay and I enjoyed it so much as it’s near the restaurant and bar scene and surrounded by a beautiful environment.

 

Q: What’s the next hotel you look forward to staying in?

A: I would like to visit Argentina and stay at the Four Seasons Buenos Aires, as well as any resort hotel in Palawan, Philippines and the Hilton in Rome.

 

Q: What’s your favorite destination?

A: I like to visit Florence in Italy.

 

Q: What’s so special about it?

A: I have been there many times. The people are really friendly, the city has a lot of history and beautiful art and the cuisine is my favorite in Italy.

 

Q: What necessities you take when going to Florence?

A: I bring with me my restaurant city guide and my camera.

 

Q: What do you do upon arriving?

A: I will go straight to the old city and have a meal in a family restaurant and a glass of chianti.

 

Q: What places do you visit in Florence?

A: The city center and the lovely open market.

 

Q: What local specialties do you like?

A: Lampredotto with Rosetta bread (it’s a kind of braised tripes served with this local bread). It’s the most famous street food in Florence, but I also like their cold cuts and homemade pastas.

 

Q: What local specialties do you like?

A: A friend brought me to some tiny restaurants hidden in the city center that only locals know about. It’s great and hard to meet other tourists in these places.

 

Q: What gifts do you bring back for friends and family?

A: Local specialities and some manufactured products.
