Parks offer blooming good time

Parks across Shanghai are being spruced up with a sea of flowers starting in late February to herald the approach of spring, Shanghai’s greenery authorities said.

A plum blossom display is being held at the Haiwan National Forest Park in Fengxian District through March 16. About 35,000 plum flower trees of 126 varieties turn the park into a flowery delight. The Shanghai Botanical Garden will host a bonsai exhibition in late April, while a peony display is ongoing at the Chenshan Botanical Garden, which displays 25 varieties of peony. A camellia display is underway at the Shanghai Botanical Garden and visitors can pick their favorite flower for a chance to win an iPad Mini. Xinzhuang Park in Minhang District is hosting a plum blossom exhibition for more than a month as well.
