Prestige awaits at InterContinental Suzhou

INTERCONTINENTAL Suzhou is one of the most prestigious and luxurious hotels in the vibrant city.

The hotel occupies a coveted location on the shores of Jinji Lake, a showpiece destination in Suzhou, often referred to as the “Venice of the East.”

The hotel is within walking distance of the Suzhou International Expo Center and the Suzhou Cultural and Arts Center. It is also just steps from Suzhou’s finest shopping and entertainment destinations including Times Square, Jiuguang Department Store, Harmony City, Moon Harbor and Suzhou Ferris Wheel Park.

Best of all, the luxury hotel is now offering a special promotion.

Guests who book a Deluxe Room from July 1 to September 30 will receive a free upgrade to a Deluxe Lake Room with breakfast for two, plus 500 yuan dining credit, which can be used at all of the hotel’s restaurants, bars, mini bar or for room service. Couples can also rent two bikes for three hours to cycle around Jinji Lake for free. The special package starts from 1,508 yuan, plus 15 percent service charge, for each room per night.

It will take approximately 40 minutes to complete the 15-kilometer bike ride non-stop. The area around Jinji Lake also boasts many tourist attractions, which will make the ride fun and entertaining. You’ll pass Suzhou Ferris Wheel Park, which features the largest Ferris wheel in China. Visitors can also take a walk along Ligong Causeway, which is home to many nice restaurants, cafes and other places designed for relaxation. And if you want to go to the cinema or theater, the Suzhou Cultural and Arts Center is near the lake. Other attractions include Moon Harbor with many European restaurants and bars and Harmony Times Square,  which is the largest commercial center around Jinjin Lake.

InterContinental Suzhou has restaurants that serve innovative cuisines to suit all tastes. Xiu, a modern Chinese restaurant, serves authentic local and regional Chinese dishes while adding fresh culinary presentations and a sophisticated contemporary ambience. Xiu means embroidery in Mandarin, and the restaurant’s interior design is inspired by colorful Suzhou silk and embroidery — timeless symbols of the city. Xiu’s experienced chefs use local and seasonal ingredients to create a menu that combines the finest flavors of Cantonese and Suzhou cuisines.

On the second floor, Riva is Suzhou’s first upscale Mediterranean steak house.

Its rustic dining room and open terrace provide an environment to cook up generous portions of premium steaks and gourmet pizzas from a special wood-fired oven, plus decadent desserts and a superb wine list.

Jing is characterized by seven island kitchens where top chefs prepare an array of global cuisines including Indian, Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian, Japanese and European. Dishes are prepared à la carte and served directly by chefs in this colorful restaurant styled like an old Suzhou street market.
