Revamped Luxun Park to reopen

THE century-old Luxun Park in Hongkou District will reopen on August 28 after a year of renovation that has brought a British flavor. A drinking fountain built in 1929 has been restored, and more than 300 cherry blossom trees were planted. An island in the park’s lake that has been decrepit for decades will be open to visitors via a new bridge. British-style signboards and street lamps have been added, with some areas in the park refurbished and redesigned. The park was built 1896.
