1 killed in house fire

A MAN died early this morning in a house fire in Huangpu District, Xinmin.cn reported.

The fire broke out at No. 188 Guangqi Road S. around 2am.

Residents living on the second floor told Xinmin that they woke up in thick smokes and managed to escape in pajamas and slippers.

Firefighters arrived and soon put out the fire. They found the man dead.

Further investigation is ongoing.
