10 'lost' hikers are now safe
TEN hikers from Shanghai who got "a little lost" on Tianmu Mountain in Lin'an, Zhejiang Province, found their way down the mountain yesterday while more than 40 officers was searching for them.
One of the hikers had called a family member surnamed Hu and said the group was "a little bit lost" at the border of Lin'an City and Anji County on Monday.
Hu then contacted police in Shanghai, who called their counterparts in Lin'an. More than 40 officers were dispatched to rescue the hikers yesterday morning.
The police ascended the mountain from five different routes and reached the 1,500- meter summit, but didn't find the lost hikers.
Around 2:30pm yesterday, Hu called the police again, saying "the lost hikers had found their way down the mountain and are safe."
Tianmu Mountain is a well-known scenic area.
