1,000 domestic and expat participants expected as annual youth innovation competition starts in Pudong

Pudong New Area kicked off its fourth annual youth science and technology innovation competition on Tuesday to encourage more young people to start up their own enterprises in Pudong or move their new companies into its territory.
Individuals between 18 and 45 years old, groups and companies can all register for the competition on http://cypd.pdyouth.net by October 30 with their startup programs.
In cooperation with TechCode, a global incubator network, the Pudong youth league committee and other relevant authorities will promote the competition around the world to attract international entrepreneurs and go to Chinese colleges and local incubators to encourage startups to participate in the contest.
Organizers expect to attract 1,000 participating starting innovation programs this year with international promotion, in comparison with a total of 2,000 in the previous three events.
Winners will be granted with financial funding and enjoy favorable policies if landing their businesses in Pudong. The results will be released in November.
