THE total number of dead pigs plucked from the Huangpu River in Shanghai climbed to 11,040 as local government pulled 116 dead pigs out of the water yesterday, among which over half were collected from water along the border between Shanghai and Zhejiang Province. Authorities said all the dead pigs were incinerated safely, and tap water remains up to national standards. Pork sold in local market are safe.
