15 Firms Caught

IN the past three months, 15 licensed companies have been caught recycling kitchen oil that was illegally picked up from drains at local restaurants, Shanghai's greenery and urban management authorities said yesterday.
They were accused of buying oil from illegal individual collectors and recycling it for use as normal cooking oil, the watchdogs said. The companies were fined up to 30,000 yuan (US$4,662).
