2 Chinese firms now back US
THE US Pavilion yesterday received sponsorship from another Chinese private company, Beijing-based multimedia provider Crystal CG, following Shandong-based Haier which signed a contract with the pavilion on Wednesday.
The pavilion is glad to approach companies in China and is accepting more donations to improve its exhibition, said Mark Germyn, the pavilion's chief operating officer.
The pavilion has now raised all its US$61 million budget for the Expo with donations from more than 50 American companies and the two Chinese enterprises.
Crystal CG, which made the multimedia show for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, will make a virtual US Pavilion at www.expo.cn, the Expo Online Website that provides a virtual tour around the site.
The company also released a 2-minute 3D movie on the exhibitions inside the US Pavilion that tops the list of pavilions Chinese people want to see according to online surveys.
