2 killed in barber shop brawl

TWO men died and another was seriously injured during a six-man brawl, sparked by adultery allegations, at a barber shop in Baoshan District early yesterday morning, police said.

The other three men involved in the fight fled the scene though one of them turned himself in later and the other two were caught, police said yesterday.

The bloody fight occurred at 3:50am yesterday at a barber shop on Gujing Road, Yuepu Town, when five men rushed into the shop carrying bricks, a witness said.

The five men started verbally abusing the shop owner because they suspected he was having affairs with their wives, the witness added.

Then the five men started fighting with the owner, using bricks. The irate owner retaliated and the fight turned so fierce that the iron roll-up door of the shop was torn down while broken glasses could be seen shattered all over the ground in the 10-square-meter room.

Blood was splattered over the furniture in the shop, leaving a 100-meter-long trace on an alley outside.

During the fight, two of the five attackers died at the scene and the shop owner was seriously injured. He was rushed to hospital, where he was out of danger, police said.

According to the landlord who rented the place to the shop owner, he often saw him with a 30-year-old woman, who was not his wife.
