2 suspects caught after valuable theft

CITY police said yesterday they had caught two suspects accused of stealing about 9 kilograms of gold and other goods worth a total of more than 3 million yuan (US$476,644) from a local office building.
Staff with a company in Putuo District reported to police on December 25 that the goods stored inside a safe were stolen. The thieves were caught in Hangzhou, capital of neighboring Zhejiang Province, on December 28, police said yesterday. The gold bars, US$40,000 and about 200,000 yuan have been recovered, police said.
