A bilingual handbook containing more than 20,000 frequently used daily words and expressions and guidance tips were distributed to World Expo volunteers yesterday.
Xu Dongliang, a Chinese-American professor at Shanghai Normal University, spent three years collecting and compiling the 100-page handbook. English translations of Chinese slang, idioms and cultural terms are also included for Expo volunteers to check when guiding foreign visitors.
