3 busted in theft of 1m yuan jade

THREE suspects were detained for stealing a piece of jade worth nearly 1 million yuan (US$160,787), police said yesterday. The incident happened recently when one of the suspects surnamed Gao asked the victim to take the jade to a restaurant in Putuo District using the pretext of wanting to buy it.
Gao asked the victim to move the jade to another place for examination and, along the way, two other suspects pretended to accidentally run into the victim, which allowed them to steal the valuable stone. The suspects were caught by police in 48 hours.
