300,000 yuan shopping spree wins competition
A MAN has won a laptop computer from Shanghai's commerce committee for spending the most during the Shanghai Shopping Festival's shopping competition.
Sun Meng, a native of Nanjing, capital of eastern China's Jiangsu Province, spent over 300,000 yuan (US$43,950) on shopping in the 27-day festival which ended on October 8, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.
He said he shopped for three friends who were married during the National Day holiday.
"I decided to shop online because the prices are normally 5 percent cheaper," Sun told the newspaper.
