335 pig bodies taken from river

THE number of dead pigs taken out of the Huangpu River yesterday still hit 335, city officials said.
That brought the total number to 9,795. All the carcasses were sent to an incineration center in the city's Fengxian District. The government has borrowed oil containment booms from Shandong Province and set them up in Qingpu, Jinshan and Songjiang districts to prevent the pigs floating down from the upstream. Tap water in Shanghai is up to the national standard.
