3D Alice to premiere in Shanghai
"ALICE In Wonderland" may follow "Avatar" as the next blockbuster to hit Shanghai's IMAX theater screen next month.
Shanghai's Peace Cinema is in talks with the distributor of "Alice in Wonderland" to screen the Tim Burton film in 3D from March 26, said Wang Guozhen, chief manager of the cinema.
Wang said if they have a deal, which is possible, "Alice" will edge "Avatar" out of the IMAX screen. The film will premiere in the United States on March 5 with a host of stars, including Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.
However, Wang said the film was unlikely to prove as popular as "Avatar."
