3G bookings for Finland Pavilion
VISITORS to Expo's Finland Pavilion will be able to reserve places using the 3G cell phone network from Wednesday, organizers announced today.
People can also receive information about special activities and gifts at the pavilion by cell phone.
Visitors can send a short message stating the time they wish to visit the pavilion in a service developed by Nokia Siemens. A reply will be sent which visitors can show at the entrance.
The hotline number will be announced later today.
"Finland has always been an innovative country," said Mikko Puustinen, deputy commissioner general of Finland for the Expo. "We always encourage technical study and development. We are glad to bring about a joyful experience to Expo visitors."
The pavilion has taken several measures to ease stress for those waiting in line. Staff sing Finnish songs to entertain them and earlier this month, Santa Claus dropped in to surprise visitors.
