5 rescued after ship sank in Yangtze River
FIVE people were rescued when two ships collided early this morning in the southern shipping channel of the Yangtze River, Shanghai maritime authorities said.
One ship sank after the collision and five people fell into the water, the Shanghai Maritime Bureau said on its official microblog.
They were found and pulled out of water after rescuers arrived. The sunken ship was also located at 5am this morning, the bureau said.
The shipwreck posed no threat to traffic in the channel, the bureau said.
