5G robots on patrol to help customs
A GROUP of 80 Shanghai Customs officers has set up shop in the National Exhibition and Convention Center to prepare for the second China International Import Expo.
This year, new facilities will ensure swift customs clearance. For example, 5G robots will make rounds at pavilions and detect any issues. Videos taken will be sent to the customs monitoring center.
A cross-border trading platform, including declarations and risk control, is connected to the information systems of shipping companies and port authorities. Intelligent channels will detect temperatures along with nuclear, biological and chemical risks. Picture check applications are designed to detect suspicious cargo. Food makers’ temporary registration and verification procedures have been greatly simplified.
