6 allegedly steal from customers

POLICE said yesterday that they have detained six people for alleged stealing customer possessions in a bath house in Changning District.
The district police found it was an inside job after a staff foreman, surnamed Wan, was nabbed. Wan began the thefts in February after losing at gambling and persuaded other staff to join him, police said. The goods they stole were worth more than 50,000 yuan (US$7,325).
