632-meter-high Lujiazui tower to top out soon

SHANGHAI Center, the newest and tallest skyscraper in Pudong's Lujiazui area, will be topped out next month, the builders said yesterday.
Construction of the 632-meter high-rise is on schedule with a new floor added every week. The landmark tower will have 210,000 square meters of office space and 50,000 square meters for retail space, Shanghai Construction Group said.
The tower which will cost about 15 billion yuan is expected to open to service next year, the company said.
Meanwhile, the world's largest exhibition center in the city's Hongqiao area will have its main facilities built by 2015, said the company.
