THE number of non-Shanghainese staying in the city for more than six months rose to 9.6 million in 2012, the Shanghai Statistics Bureau said yesterday. They represent 40 percent of the city's population. About 47.2 percent of married migrant workers have one child and 39.3 percent have two children.
