Alleged robber nabbed

SHANGHAI police detained a man last night who they said attacked and injured a police officer after robbing a female resident.
The incident happened about 8:40pm on Zhengli Road and Songhu Road in Wujiaochang area, Yangpu District. Two officers patrolling the area saw the robbery and came to stop it, police said. The suspect cut the mouth of one officer with a knife while trying to escape. He was nabbed at 9:10pm.
The injured officer was in stable condition and the victim was unhurt, police said. The case was still under investigation last night.
