A MAN in his seventies was charged with assault yesterday by Zhabei District prosecutors for throwing a bamboo pole from the fifth floor of a building and seriously injuring a 9-year-old girl.
The man, surnamed Guo, threw the pole out of the window on January 18 and it happened to hit the victim, who was passing by. The girl was badly injured on and received brain surgery.
