At least 2 killed in downtown residential fire

A FIRE broke out in a residential building in Yangpu District at 8:30am today, killing at least two people and damaging several apartments.
The roof had burned through before the fire was brought control around 9:30am.
An older woman died despite attempts to revive her at a hospital. The fire started on the fourth floor of the building, according to witnesses.
The cause is still under investigation.
