At least 5 dead in blaze at market, 5 injured
AT least five people were killed and five injured in a farm produce market fire in Shanghai that occurred last night, rescuers said. The bodies of those killed were found at the scene.
The fire broke out about 8:30pm in a wholesale produce market at 2000 Hunan Highway in the Pudong New Area, said rescuers. The five injured were sent to a hospital. The most severely injured was a 57-year-old woman with burns on 80 percent of her body. Doctors said she was in life-threatening condition. Efforts were being made to extinguish the fire as of midnight.
