At least 9 killed, 43 injured in rear-end crashes this morning

MORE than 20 vehicles were involved in multiple rear-end crashes this morning on S32 Expressway, killing at least nine people and leaving 43 others injured.
The accidents happened about 6am on the expressway linking Shanghai, Jiaxing and Huzhou.
By 4:30pm, nine people have been confirmed dead. Seven of them died on the scene, whiel two were pronounced dead at hospital.
Another 43 people others were injured and being treated at hospital.
A tank truck loaded with dimethylformamide overturned in one of the accidents, but no leakage of the chemicals has been detected so far.
Several expressways in the city were closed or subject to speed limit due to heavy fog this morning.
