Balloon looks over Expo site
A balloon carrying infrared and video cameras will fly over Shanghai next year to monitor traffic and fire risks and take aerial pictures for the 2010 World Expo, city officials said yesterday.
The 32-meter-long white balloon will not be powered and will hover up to 1,000 meters above the Expo site attached to a car.
The balloon will not be manned but will carry a video camera, an infrared camera, a hyper-spectral camera and meteorological equipment to monitor crowds, fire risks and traffic. It can also broadcast images.
