THE Basque County of Spain opened its week of fine cuisine, folk performances and fashion yesterday at the Spain Pavilion.
One of the week's highlights is the folklore dance group Oinkari de Boise, with all dancers coming from a Basque community in Idaho, US. They will be accompanied by the unique beats of a Ttukunak, a traditional percussion instrument. They will collaborate with Chinese drummers from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. They will perform twice daily from 10am to 12:30pm and 3pm to 5:30pm.
