Better bus updates
SHANGHAI Bashi Group said it will expand scan codes to more bus lines this year to enable passengers to check when the next bus will arrive at their stop. The codes are already available at 38 bus lines downtown and will increase to about 580 lines, covering nearly 10,000 buses, the group said. Passengers can scan the QR code at the stop with their smartphones to find out how far away the next bus is and when it will arrive at their stop. However, some bus passengers said the information is not very accurate. Group officials said they are working on improving the accuracy of information. Some passengers said they like the idea.
