Blast woman faces punishment

THE woman responsible for an explosion in a residential building in Qingpu District on Saturday night may face punishment.
Eight people including the woman, surnamed Jiang, were injured in the blast.
Jiang admitted she had turned on the gas to kill herself in her room but the explosion had happened unexpectedly as she was using her computer.
Jiang remains in hospital with serious injuries and the district government is paying for 36 families to be given temporary accommodation at a nearby hotel as experts evaluate the damage to the building.
The explosion occurred in apartment 404 of building No. 10 in Zhangbang Neighborhood at about 6:20pm on Saturday.
