A steelworks in the city's Jiading District caught fire this morning, spreading to a factory and a warehouse, after an explosion that sent scared workers running for safety, but no one was injured.
Officials judged the fire an accident from a blast caused by a molten steel leak during the course of production.
The fire was reported at 5:45am in the metalwork factory at 4290 Huyi Road near Shengxin Road, said Jiading District police.
