Blaze next to kindergarten

A FIRE broke out near a kindergarten around noon today, at a Metro station construction site in Jing'an District.

No children were in the kindergarten at the time as it is the winter break. No one was injured in the blaze.

The fire is believed to have started in containers on the site at the intersection of Weihai Road and Maoming Road.

The containers had been stored against a wall adjacent to the kindergarten.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze at around 12:40pm. Its cause is still under investigation.
