Bomb hoaxer hoped to avoid bathhouse fee
A MAN has been caught after staging a bomb hoax at a Zhabei District bathhouse to avoid paying the fees in the subsequent confusion.
The 27-year-old Shanghai man surnamed Liu was bathing at the house on Zhapu Road yesterday. He twice called police to claim that he had seen someone bring a bomb inside, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.
Police, firefighters and emergency staff rushed to the address but found nothing. Police caught Liu in a guestroom, accusing him of disrupting social order.
Liu allegedly told police that he staged the bomb scare in an attempt to sneak away from the house during the investigation and avoid paying the bathing fee.
