Boy, 8, drowns in septic tank

AN eight-year-old boy drowned in a septic tank in a residential complex in Changning District on Saturday afternoon.

The child was reported missing at 5pm and his body was discovered by midnight, Oriental Morning Post reported today.

The complex has four septic tanks that were left uncovered during building work.

The boy, identified as Zeng Zeng, was seen playing with several children in the complex that afternoon. His family is from Anhui Province.
