A seven-year-old boy drowned after falling into a river in Jiading District yesterday. The child was playing with friends on the bank when he slipped and fell into the water at around 8am. His body was recovered at 1:45pm.
His parents blamed themselves for negligence, as they were both working at that time. Officials advised parents to keep a close eye on their children, for as the weather warms up, more children will be eager to play near rivers or go swimming.
