Boy in coma after car knocks him off his bike
A boy was seriously injured this morning when his bicycle was hit by a car in downtown Shanghai.
The 13-year-old boy suffered head injury and was still in coma at noon, but his condition is stable, according to doctors at the Shanghai Children's Hospital.
The accident happened around 7:30am at the intersection of Xinzha Road and Huanghe Road in Huangpu District. The boy was on his way to school when he was knocked off his bike.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police said either the boy or the driver might have run the red light.
