Braille map helps the blind to ride subway
SHANGHAI published China's first braille subway map today and it will appear in every station on Metro Line 10 for the convenience of blind travelers.
The map marks all the stations on Line 10 and points of transfer to other lines. Braille maps for the city's other subways will be made one by one, Metro officials said today.
Thirty children of the Shanghai School for the Blind received the maps today.
Metro Line 10 traverses many popular destinations in downtown Shanghai, such as Nanjing Road E., the Yuyuan Garden, and shopping centers in Xujiahui and Wujiaochang.
